About

I’m Mark Yousef.

I run Insai, a neurotechnology startup building AI-powered wearables for interfacing with the brain. Reading the brain is one of the great unfinished projects in science. We can sequence a genome for a few hundred dollars and record a heart rate from a watch, but the brain is still measured in a lab, rarely, if at all.

I’ve been fascinated by the brain for as long as I can remember. Richard Feynman left “What I cannot create, I do not understand” on his blackboard, and that line pointed me to AI as a way to understand it.

I started my career as a software engineer in 2014, back when we wrote code by hand. Since then I’ve built closed-loop brain stimulation systems, everyday brain-sensing wearables and AI systems for interpreting physiological signals, all to understand brain health better. I’m also an avid biohacker and run N-of-1 experiments on myself, testing supplements, behavioral protocols and gadgets.
